Professor Sue O’Reilly appointed to AAS Council

On June 2, the Australian Academy of Science (AAS) announced the appointment of CCFS’ Director Prof. Suzanne Y. O’Reilly to the Academy’s Council to represent the Physical Sciences. Sue was originally elected to the Academy in 2001 in recognition of her world-class research and research leadership in the Earth Sciences, and has served on numerous committees and panels for the AAS. She has recently been instrumental in guiding the new decadal plan process for Earth Sciences and advancing the UNCOVER initiative (chttps://www.science.org.au/publications/searching-deep-earth-vision-exploration-geoscience-australia) as a member of the Executive Committee. Her appointment to the Council will give Earth Sciences, Macquarie University and the CCFS even higher visibility in the upper levels of Australian Science and Geoscience policy.

Congratulations Sue !
