Four staff members (Dick Flood, Kelsie Dadd, Simon George and Simon Clark) and five research students led a successful fieldtrip to the South Coast of NSW (Kioloa) from 13-17 April 2015 for GEOS206 (56 students). The weather was mostly fine and the glaciogenic Permian sediments were as spectacular as ever. We compared modern beach, delta and lagoonal sediments with older analogues, and taught the students how to interpret past depositional environments from the sedimentary rocks. Head of Department of EPS (Prof Martin Kennedy) joined the group for 1 day and enjoyed the field experience and his first look at these coastal outcrops.
