Qualitative descriptions of these grades are given on the inside back cover of the Unit Booklet
For assignments done during the semester "plus" and "minus" subdivisions of these letter grades will be indicated where appropriate to give you a more specific indication of your level of achievement. All returned assignments will also contain constructive feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of the submitted work and you should feel free to discuss this feedback with the marker. Your final result in the unit will be recorded on your academic transcript as an overall letter grade (HD, D, Cr, P, PC or F) and a standardised numerical grade (SNG).
N.B.
In order to pass the unit all the above items must be satisfactorily completed . To enable the assignments to be returned in reasonable time and to be fair to all persons doing the unit the dates for submission of the two written assignments are firm. Extensions will only be granted in exceptional circumstances. Written evidence of illness or misadventure will normally be the only grounds on which an extension will be given. Late assignments will be penalised 2 marks per day late. Keep a copy of both of your assignments.
